How It Works
How It Works
How It Works
How It Works
Getting started is easy— honestly. Here's how simple we made it.

Step 1: Text Us
Seriously — no apps, no portals, no waiting rooms, no one hacking up a lung five feet from you pretending it's "just allergies."
You can say hi, send an emoji, or just mash your keyboard.
That's it. We'll reply instantly with what to do next.
FYI: Regular texting isn't fully encrypted on your side (obviously)— but we've got you covered on our end with a secure, HIPAA-compliant system.
Want full encryption? The free Spruce app is available (but totally optional)

Step 2: Paperwork Time
It’s the usual suspects: consent to treat, HIPAA stuff, and a few quick questions about what’s going on.
No writing your emergency contact for the fifth time. It's still your mom, and she still prints MapQuest directions. So no, she wont understand this.
Just tap through the short forms so we’re allowed to help without the government kicking down our door.

Step 3: Provider Review
You’ll hear directly from a licensed medical provider — not a robot.
You don't need to sit by your phone like you're waiting for a middle school crush to text back.
We'll send a message after we review the forms — and if you don't get back to us for an hour (or a day), no big deal.
Life happens. We're not mad. Pinky swear.

Step 4: Get the Script
If treatment makes sense, we’ll shoot you a secure Stripe link to pay.
It’s quick, encrypted, and — unlike your ex — we actually follow through.
Once you pay, your prescription goes straight to your pharmacy. Easy.
Just one flat $50 payment — and only if we send a script.
No surprise fees. No BS.

Frequently Asked Questions
Because you still don't trust us.
Let's change that.
Frequently Asked Questions
Because you still don't trust us.
Let's change that.
💬 Do I need to download an app or create an account?
Nope. Everything happens over text. Apps are optional. Pants are too.
💬 Wait… I’m just texting you, and this counts as healthcare?
Yup. It feels casual, but it’s legit. Secure, legal, HIPAA-compliant healthcare — without the fluorescent lights.
💬 When do I pay?
Only after we agree a prescription is appropriate. No script? No charge.
💬 What does $50 cover?
Everything. The chat. The diagnosis. The script. No hidden fees, no gotchas.
💬 Is texting secure?
On our end, yes — it’s HIPAA-grade encrypted. On your end, regular texting isn’t encrypted — So don't leave your phone unlocked on a party bus.
If you want extra privacy and full end to end encryption, download the free Spruce App and talk to us there.
💬 Will this go on my insurance or medical record?
Nope. We’re direct pay, and we keep your info private unless you ask us to share it.
💬 What conditions do you treat?
Stuff you don’t want to talk about face-to-face: ED, UTIs, hair loss, cold/flu, birth control, and more coming soon.
💬 What if I want to use my PC?
Although this service is made for texting, you can use your desktop to access our Spruce site and start a secure conversation with us there.
💬 Who am I texting with?
A licensed medical provider — not a bot. Real human, real credentials, real fast.
💬 Can anyone use this?
You must be 18+ and live in a state we’re licensed in. If not, we’ll politely decline and send you on your way — no charge.
💬 What states are you in?
Starting with Michigan. Expanding soon. If you're out-of-bounds, we'll let you know fast.
💬 How quickly can I get my prescription?
Once we’ve received your payment through Stripe, your prescription is typically sent out within the hour — straight to the pharmacy of your choice.
That said, getting to that point depends on:
How quickly you respond to our questions (you can take as much time as you'd like)
How fast you complete the intake form
And how busy the provider is at that moment
If everything’s done during normal hours, it’s often wrapped up in under an hour.
But if you send your info at 3am on a Saturday, it’s possible we won’t reply until the next morning. (We’re fast, but not caffeinated 24/7.)
💬 You screwed something up, how can I get in contact with you?
Totally fair. We’re not above criticism.
Whether we missed something, confused you, or just rubbed you the wrong way — we want to fix it.
Email support@skipthetriprx.com and we’ll make it right.
(We don’t technically have a manager, but we do have very apologetic people with access to the system.)
💬 Can I use my HSA for this?
Maybe — it depends on your insurance provider’s rules.
In general, HSA/FSA cards can be used for telehealth services if:
The visit was for a legitimate medical condition
You received a diagnosis and/or prescription
The service wasn’t purely cosmetic.
If your insurance later asks for documentation we will gladly provide it.
You can absolutely try using your HSA or FSA card at checkout — just know it’s up to your provider whether they approve it.
💬 Okay, be serious for a second — how do I know I can actually trust this?
Fair question. Here's the straight (and long) answer:
We use Spruce, a HIPAA-compliant messaging platform used by hospitals and private practices across the country.
Every message you send us — and every one we send back — is encrypted and secured on our end.
We get it: texting is easy. That’s literally the whole inspiration for this.
But you should know: regular SMS isn’t encrypted on your device. That means if someone else has access to your phone, they could see the conversation.
That’s why we offer the Spruce app. If you want max privacy, you can message us directly through it — the link on our site takes you right to our page in the app.
But if you’d rather stick with normal texting? That’s totally fine. Just don’t leave your phone unlocked on a dinner table if you’re shy about your UTI.
We also limit the personal info we ask for over text — usually just your initials and birth year to confirm we’re talking to the right person.
Everything else (medical history, consent, etc.) goes through secure forms, not over SMS.
Also:
Your forms and health info are stored via JotForm, a HIPAA-certified form system.
Payments are handled through Stripe, one of the most secure processors in the world.
Your prescriptions are sent securely through iPrescribe.
We don’t sell or share your info. Ever. Not for marketing, not for money, not for anything.
Everything is encrypted, private, and built to meet or exceed federal HIPAA standards.
